About Julien Cantelm

Based in San Diego, Julien Cantelm is highly sought after for his versatile, creative, and unique drumming. Born into a musical family, Julien’s journey began at a young age. His father a percussionist and his uncle, bassist for the Pittsburgh Symphony, introduced the violin to Julien around the age of 4 before moving on to acoustic guitar and drums around the age of 11. Julien has toured extensively with both national and international projects.

Whether performing solo or with her band, Helena's song-bird soul melodies paired with rhythmic grooves always create a warm atmosphere with unique renditions of hit songs & original music. Her eclectic sound draws influence from a number of genres and styles, making her adaptable to virtually any setting or venue. Her original music pays homage to the artists she deeply appreciate’s across decades, such as Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, King Pleasure, Bob Marley, Curtis Mayfield, Esperanza Spalding, Lauryn Hill, & more. A typical set with Helena will sound like Allen Stone, Corrine Bailey Rae, Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley, Dusty Springfield, and Lauryn Hill. Helena also has a side project DiscoDaze that consists of a 10 piece live funk, soul, R&B band which began performing at a Live Music Roller Disco called DiscoDaze she hosts regularly in San Diego over the last year. The band plays classic soul, funk, & R&B favorites and is available for hire for all kinds of private events.
