About Michael Till
Michael has been active as a music performer and educator since 2011. After first studying jazz and classical guitar at Grossmont College, he went on to earn a B.A. in Jazz studies from UCSD. There he had the opportunity to study jazz improvisation with Grammy winning artist Kamau Kenyata, as well as composition with Anthony Davis. He continues his study of classical guitar with Robert Wetzel, a former protege of The Romero's.
As a performer Michael has worked as a jazz musician in styles ranging from traditional to modern jazz, and is also experienced working in styles such as blues, funk, latin and classical. Some of the notable venues he has performed at include Panama 66 (The San Diego Museum of Art), The US Grant Hotel, The Cicada Club and Clifton's Republic. Michael has also maintained an active student roster the last several years, coaching students in a variety of genres
