About Ashley Mazanec
Ashley performs with dozens of musicians across San Diego County, and her voice is featured on a variety of artists’ work ranging from Bassnectar to Dave Rice (as heard on Netflix season 1 Tales of the City). Her first love is piano, and one of her original compositions, “Possible,” can be heard in stores across the US from TJ Maxx to Hershey’s and Abercrombie Kids. Ashley currently teaches music at Saint James Academy in Del Mar.
Ashley Mazanec’s vocals have been resonating throughout the airwaves since her voice was first sampled by Gabe Lehner of Inspired Flight in 2004. Since, she has composed and recorded original music featured across the United States in stores such as T.J. Maxx, Hershey’s, and Abercrombie Kids. From 2010-2012, Ashley toured as a featured vocalist across the festival circuit and notable venues in the western United States such as SXSW, Lightning in a Bottle, the Roxy Hollywood, Boulder Theater, The Fonda Theatre, and Cervantes Masterpiece ballroom — often opening for the iconic Beats Antique. She is featured by a variety of electronic music producers, ranging from Bassnectar to Champagne Drip, and most recently Dave Rice. Her vocals can be heard on Netflix Tales of the City’s first episode covering Madonna’s Physical Attraction, setting the tone for a glorious San Francisco party scene.
Today, Ashley strikes a balance between teaching music and singing for live audiences. She works with students ages 4-14 at Saint James Academy in Del Mar to learn ukulele, recorder, music theory, singing, and performance and conducts choir and band while playing piano for weekly services. Her live set is typically a jazz – soul fusion featuring popular music and dance moves that she just can’t resist.
