About Aimee Jacobs
Aimee Jacobs is a nationally touring musician, composer, songwriter, and vocalist known for her work as a keyboardist and backing vocalist for many different musical projects. Aimee’s musical credits are vast and extensive; winning San Diego Music Awards (SDMA) Rock Band of the year in 2010, and being nominated in 2011 and 2018. For over 15 years, Aimee has performed all over Southern California, and parts of the UK, with her many different musical projects. She has been a live performer for over 2 decades, performing her own compositions and being a musician for hire for other artists.
Aimee Jacobs started playing piano at the age of 7. She had a deep desire to take voice lessons at the time but technical voice lessons were not permitted in the classical field until twelve years of age. She continued to play piano until she was allowed to start her vocal studies. From that point on she received classical voice lessons for the next decade.
She decided to go back to school while also juggling her travels to study Opera performance. Here she learned how to sing and interpret art songs and aria’s in multiple languages. When she returned back to school, piano had become a part of the curriculum. She has now been studying classical piano for six years and in that time has accomplished multiple works by Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Debussy.
She has been maintaining her training in both classical vocals and piano all while having three independent musical projects and teaching. She also has a side career of a session vocalist at Singing Serpent, a studio that works on commercial jingles and regularly needs versatile vocal styles. Her teaching career has been thriving under all these activities. Teaching has been a powerful motivator in constant self improvement to pass onto her students. Aimee has worked at the San Diego Music and Art Cooperative for five years and has been teaching private lessons for eight years. Music is her livelihood and her passion.
