Hunter Burgamy is a guitarist, vocalist, bassist, and jazz banjoist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Deeply rooted in his native towns' traditions of blues, funk, and jazz, he aims to transcend genre through his musicianship by his interest in these roots, and world folk musics, a passion of his.
He is a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and Berklee College of Music with a bachelor’s degree in Music Business, with which he put into practice interning at New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall, where he was involved with the music venue, marketing, and educational roles as well as assisting in the Hall’s inaugural Krewe de Kanaval, and the Midnight Preserves during Jazz Fest.
His music has taken him to perform throughout the major music and festival scene of New Orleans and New England, as well as cities throughout Cuba, Brasil, Iceland, Mexico, Canada, Spain, France, Japan, and others. Hunter has worked at New Orleans' legendary Preservation Hall.
